Description

The 58 Mile Sock is named after the journey the fibre takes. Just 58 miles from recycled wool fibre to finished sock, with the yarn spun in Yorkshire and the socks knitted in Derbyshire.

It’s the everyday sock in the range, designed for simple comfort across most shoes. A smooth knit runs through the leg and foot, creating a flexible structure that’s easy to wear day after day.

The even knit keeps the sock comfortable inside shoes and trainers, without feeling bulky or restrictive.

The result is a sock that feels soft, flexible and easy to wear with almost anything.

Merino lambswool naturally helps regulate temperature, keeping your feet warm in the cold and comfortable when it’s warm. A performance fibre for the sport of life.

Care Instructions

Air Wash™

Merino + Cashmere wool naturally resists odour, so it doesn’t need washing as often as many other fibres.

Often the best way to refresh your socks is simply to air them between wears.

Washing less saves water and energy, and helps your socks last longer.

Can I Wash my Socks?

Machine wash at 30°C on a wool cycle. Air dry.

These socks are made from shoddy, mechanically recycled wool. Natural wool may draw in slightly after washing.

Once on your foot, the stretch of the knit restores the sock to its natural size.

Avoid excessive heat and heavy agitation, which can cause wool fibres to felt and permanently alter the sock.

Shipping

Shoddysocks is currently a very small operation — in fact, it’s mostly just me.

Orders are packed and shipped by hand using Royal Mail 2nd Class, so please allow a few days for your socks to arrive.

We’re currently in thesoft-launch testing phase — a bit of a crash-test-dummy moment for Shoddysocks.

If anything about your order works particularly well — or not so well — please do get in touch. Good news and bad news are both useful at this stage.

Thank you for supporting the Shoddy Socks project.
